Initiative on Improving Livelihood of Youth in Afghan Refugees Hosting Area Nowshera |
With the support of UNHCR REPID is implementing livelihood project for the beneficiaries as hosting and Afghan Refugees in Chowki Town and Nawy Kali. 67% male and 33% females has been selected in these UCs and their capacity will be enhanced in local demand trades and link them with the relevant vendors and job placements. |
Community Mobilization for Sustainable Development. |
In accordance to organize community for disaster management and preparedness, REPID has strived to identify, coordinate and organize local activists, thus for collaborative efforts. In course of the project, REPID conducted activities in the following manner: Identification of activist. Coordination of the activists. Community Led Total Sanitation and Health and Hygiene Education Program |
Advocacy program for women and children to discourage practices of open defecation. Orientation sessions on community led sanitation and cost effective techniques of scientific disposal of wastes. Health and hygiene sessions with the local communities (women and children). Technical support on installation of cost effective household latrines. Establishment of scientific Jirga to monitor the health service provision and mechanisms for effectiveness and transparency. |
Lady Health Visitors Empowerment |
Women in Central FATA are facing many hardships because of cultural barriers and overall deprivation. This calls for immediate action to empower women by opening up new avenues for economic uplift. To address such a need, the aim of this information-sharing project was to equip the Lady Health Visitors with use of computer and internet thus to effectively maintain their patient records and case histories for future referrals. Further; they were taught internet surfing to access modern techniques of healthcare and scientific practices of preservation of health and prevention of diseases. |
Establishment of Community Based Organizations |
REPID organizes communities into settlement level Community Organizations (COs), village level Village Organizations (VOs) and Union Council level Local Support Organizations (LSOs). REPID build the capacity of COs/VOs/LSOs to access funds and services from different service providers. The COs supports their members through individual level income generating activities by mobilizing savings, and skills training. The COs also implements small scale physical infrastructure projects and health and education initiatives. The VOs mainly implement larger projects and the LSOs act as mini support organizations that provide guidance to the member VOs and COs. This makes the community institutions sustainable as the complete ownership rests with the people themselves. The social mobilization process leads to effective community participation in planning, implementation, monitoring, operation and maintenance of various programmes and projects. |
Malaria prevention program |
The project has implemented in coordination with Governments departments REPID mobilized the community from the prevention of malaria through malaria protection trainings and provide malaria protection net to the community |
Community Mobilization for Polio Vaccination |
For the accesses to Vaccination REPID mobilized the local community and give access to the Vaccination worker to the unreachable areas. |
Livelihood Skill training |
With the support of International Rescue Committee IRC REPID established skills centers for the IDP,s of Jalozai Camp by providing Machine Netting, Embroidery training to the Women’s and link them with the market. |
Free Medical Camp |
With the support of NATPOW REPID established free Medical Camps by providing emergency treatment with medicines and refer the cases to Hospitals. Hygiene Promotions Provision of Primary Health Care Mother and Child Health facilities |
Skilled Youth Program |
As takes steps to not be left behind in the technological revolution, it will need a competent and computer literate workforce of men and women. Computer literacy for poor rural youth can be achieved by providing career-oriented computer training. The main reason for the IT awareness program is to empower poor rural youth to take advantage of the IT revolution and earn a respectable living for themselves and contribute to family economies. Community members have an opportunity to exchange views and ideas on matters pertaining to computer education and training, and to maintain affiliations with local and foreign Associations with similar objectives |

Non-formal Education Project |
The project aim was to increase the status of women and future generations in rural areas where lack of basic educational opportunities contributes to economic poverty, poor health, and unsustainable population growth. Reducing the effects of these 3 inhibitors were to be achieved by an integrated, educative approach, and to teach participating women how to read and the opportunities that come with literacy, the importance of adhering to sanitary practices in the use of water and waste disposal, as well as effective and inexpensive methods of birth control. |
